Lessons teach the skills. Practice builds the confidence. We recommend at least 5 hours of supervised home driving between each lesson. Every learner progresses at their own pace and we will never move on until they are genuinely ready.

Our Competency-Gated Philosophy

We never move to the next stage until your learner is genuinely ready. If a skill needs more time, we repeat it. We tell you the truth about where your learner is at, rather than just taking bookings.

Written progress report after every lesson.
After every session your instructor completes a full skill-by-skill assessment. Each skill is rated as competent, needs more practice, or newly introduced. The report is sent directly to you after the lesson so you always know exactly where your learner stands and what to focus on before the next session.
One lesson length, one price for the pathway

Every step in this five-stage pathway is a full 1 hour session at $90, no toggles, no tiers, just a consistent block of time with your instructor. Closer to test day, we also offer longer Test Extension lessons on the actual test routes, see below.

Vehicle Control Foundation
Drills, steering, mirrors, blindspots and the system of vehicle control. Building the fundamentals from the ground up.

The Parent Programme

Your learner needs 120 hours of supervised practice before their restricted licence test. That practice happens with you, not with us. Most parents feel underprepared for that role. You have been driving for years but nobody has ever shown you how to teach someone else to drive, what to look for, how to give feedback without creating anxiety, or what the current NZTA test actually assesses.

The Parent Programme is a one-hour on-road session with one of our instructors. You drive. They coach. By the end of the session you will know exactly what your learner needs to practise, how to structure home sessions, what good technique looks like, and how to recognise when your learner is ready to progress.

60 hours or 120?
From January 2027, learners under 25 can shorten their learner period from 12 months to 6 by logging 60 hours of supervised practice, or by completing an NZTA-approved course. Half the hours does not mean half the standard. The Parent Programme is built to make every one of those hours count.
